Current Volunteer Opportunities in Albion

NATIONAL FAMILY VOLUNTEER DAY…Is November 22…Unity in the Spirit of America!!! We will conduct a food drive for the local Salvation Army Albion/Homer Service Unit and AIM beginning November 17 thru 21. Food can be brought to the AVSO office anytime between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm. “RING-A-LING, HEAR THEM DING”…That’s right!! The season is near. Every year the Salvation Army calls upon the community to assist in defraying some of the costs associated with its Albion-Homer emergency services. Community-minded volunteers will be needed to staff kettle sites in Albion and Marshall. Hours will be from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm.

MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE… Do you enjoy playing board games, story reading and other activities? Albion Care Center is looking for volunteers, no special skills required other than having a desire to work with the elderly. Tendercare of Albion Patti Oliphant

HELP SAVE A LIFE…The Red Cross could always use blood and that is why we often repeat this request. Volunteers are needed to donate blood for Albion’s Blood Drive on Thursday, November 6th at Tennant Hall at the First United Methodist Church on Michigan Ave. Donors should be in good health and over 17 years of age, have waited at least 8 weeks since their last donation. The time is from 12:00 pm to 5:45 pm. Contact Miriam Daly

 

 

 

 

 

HEALTH CENTER BENEFIT CELEBRATION…Volunteers will be needed to help with many tasks related to making the Ball a success. If you have helped with this annual holiday tradition in the past & want to join in the fun again, or if you are interested in helping for the first time please call AVSO. The Benefit Ball is set for December 5. 2003, contact Sue Marcos Chamber of Comm.

RAKE AND RUN… Can you help assist low-income elderly and disabled residents with their leaf raking this year we will rake four Saturdays, during the city wide leaf pick up. Call AVSO
